As Bushfire Planning and Design (BPAD) Accredited Practitioners, we provide expert planning & solutions to help you fulfill your statutory obligations concerning bushfire protection. But that’s just the bare minimum – our assistance extends beyond safeguarding physical assets like natural landscapes, residences, and businesses; we also prioritise the safety and well-being of the people & wildlife within these environments, ensuring comprehensive protection measures are in place.

Meet Peter Dowse

South Coast Local & Expert Bushfire Planner

I’m Peter, owner of South Coast Bushfire. I grew up in Currarong, a small coastal town on the NSW South Coast. Growing up surrounded by nature, I quickly fell in love with the the outdoors and became passionate about the wellbeing of the environment. Now as a father, I love sharing my love for nature and the beautiful South Coast with my kids.

With 10 years of experience in Bushfire Planning, in both private & public sectors, I’ve developed expertise across many areas of bushfire planning & protection. Many of those years were spent working with the NSWRFS to gain a further understanding of bushfire planning policy, providing me with a unique set of skills in the effective implementation of bushfire protection measures.

Now as a father, I love sharing my love for nature and the beautiful South Coast with my kids.

First-hand experience in the severity of wildfires

During the horrific 2019/20 South Coast bushfires, I saw first-hand the devastation that wildfires can bring to a community and its natural surroundings – not only as a local citizen, but through multiple deployments with the NSWRFS.

These experiences not only increased my comprehension of fire behaviour but also heightened my desire to protect the local community & environment through bushfire management.
